love THAT rabbit

I have been in love with this little rabbit
ever since I spied him in these cute pics...

WELL the other day, I was travelling through
the lovely blogosphere, and there he was...

Mister Eric Easter himself,
and for 56 euros he could be all mine,
he was even on sale!

Oh, so very tempting...

He is currently residing at

Yet another wonder from COPENHAGEN

which I discovered via...
(a wonderful czechoslovakian site)

which I discovered via...
(another delightful site... from Barcelona)

I definitely have a thing for Danish design
and I'd LOVE to travel to Eastern Europe
and I am yearning to return to Barcelona,

but getting back the bunny

I think that I may have developed a bit of a
thing for cute (and considerably rascally)....

rabbits

I'm even planning on sewing up a whole
rabbity troupe of these little funny bunnies
for my Etsy store once it's up and running.

I'll post some pictures here once they're
all sewn up & looking dandy!

...so yummy!

And here's a peek at some home-made treats...

when it opens!

Here are some more delectable edibles...

...jam hearts and gingerbread men
spotted at a bakery in Williamstown,
and one little bunny...

made with love
and in our kitchen :0

Do you fancy something sweet now?
well, here's the bunny recipe:-

old fashioned gingerbread
(it always works a treat!)

125 g butter, softened
1/2 cup (110g) firmly packed
brown sugar
1 egg yolk
2 1/2 cups (375g) plain flour
1 tsp bicarb soda
3 tsps ground ginger
2 tsps cinnamon
2 tsps nutmeg
2 tsps cardamom
1/2 cup golden syrup

1. Preheat oven to 180ºc.  Grease and flour oven trays.

2. Beat butter, sugar and egg yolk with electric mixer
until smooth.  Sift in dry ingredients and syrup in two
batches.  Mix to form a soft dough.

3. Knead dough on floured surface until smooth.

4. Roll out a piece of dough 5mm thick and cut out
shapes using cookie cutters dipped in flour. Use
a spatula to place cut cookies onto trays, leaving a
little space between the cookies (they will spread).

5. Bake cookie shapes for about 10-15 minutes, then
cool on trays and while warm, lift onto wire racks.

6. Once cool, ice with melted chocolate and sprinkles.

Should make about 24 biscuits... store in an airtight tin, and enjoy!

winter wonderful

As I travel the internet visiting sites from across the globe
my head is flooded by images of colourful summer-time.

Meanwhile, I sit here stoking the fire and sipping hot drinks,
dressed in my wooliest of woolies with our kitten on my lap
and a sick little boy nestled, oh so cozily, by my side beneath
layer upon layer of beautiful knitted and crocheted blankets.

Today I am peering out at a wintery countryside landsape.

The sun shines down through the glistening late autumn
leaves and early boughs of snow-white blossom begin to
bloom.  Beneath her gown of fog, sleet and grey skies, the
land is green and lush and filled with signs of winter life.

And so, in Australia the mid winter solstice is upon us.

This Saturday afternoon we will be making our way
down to the Collingwood Children's farm's annual

and celebrating the wonderful gift that is winter-time,

for there is much to love about this time of the year,
just take a sneak peek at the latest issue of...

...all those indulgent puddings & cosy desserts. yum!

I hope that you're enjoying the world,
wherever it is that you may live,
and whatever the season there may be.

Doli Kitty

I have long been planning to write about
the wonderful craft of Misako Mimoko.

The beautiful work of Barcelona based
graphic artist Eva Monleón...
perhaps my most favourite find on Etsy.

You can visit Eva's lovely shop here

Eva also creates a sweet range of hand-crafted
ceramic wearables, paper dolls, pins, cards etc.
Her work & illustrations are simply delightful.

I recently purchased this whimsical calendar...

Isn't it the loveliest thing?!

You can read more on Eva's wonderful blog
or visit her dolis y dolos here

Sometime ago Doli Kitty came to live with me,
she arrived by mail one day and it was love...

She is now residing in my new studio and I have
promised that I will post some photos of her lovely
new abode once she has finished decorating it!

I will post more about Misako Mimoko soon too.

Hot Chocolate

Although we tend to avoid franchises like the plague
my little sweet-tooth and I do share a weakness for
Tutti Frutti Waffles and Italian Hot Chocolates a là

And that's exactly where we're headed on this
cold and frosty Winter friday once school's out!

I also have a weakness for their wonderful graphics.

I hope everyone enjoys a most enjoyable
Queen's Birthday Weekend. hoorah!

hickory dickory dock

need this little mouse...  i really, really DO !

via  etsy  (of course)

say i love you

Well, since the sad passing of our dear friend Mac ,
we've decided that it's time to get a dog of our own.

So we're on the look out for a large (fluffy) dog,
that's intelligent and can be trained to stay within
property boundaries (as there's only wire fencing).

A dog that has a reputation as being child-friendly,
that's playfully, affectionate, says 'I LOVE YOU'...

seriously though, if you know of a dog in Victoria
that's looking for a home please do let me know
